I'm working in a ETL process today, and all the inventory was being marked as "In Stock" which is the default value, instead of "sold" which I expected. I had a big long forum post all typed up about how 18.1 Field_Defaults were broken when I decided to just check if it worked in 17.0.

It Didn't

I then spent an inordinate amount of time stepping through the "request save" code in 17.0 to find where a default that I'd overwritten was being written back.

Imagine my chagrin when I discovered this line in procedure creating, in the DD for the stock table :

Move 1 to tStock.QtyOnHand

D'oh!

Just because you're testing in the 18.1 environment, does not mean the compiler is broken....

I think "Duh" is spelled that way, and yes, I've said it a time or two...

I think "D'oh" is referring to what Homer Simpson says... ;)

Yup that it is. However in the script it just says "[annoyed grunt]"

Michael will say that it's because I'm older than... __________ Supply your own term.

There is deep and profound wisdom found in watching "The Simpsons"... and then you could experience "Homer-isms" in much the same way we (in the forum) experience "Worsley moments".

Here is another test:
My wife finds The Simpsons silly and shallow - ergo - The Simpson's is a "must watch" show for every guy (regardless of how many decades you have breathed in).

That would be "guy wisdom". My wife would say "I've heard of the show..."

I have eccentric beer tastes. Are you coming to Synergy in Seattle (http://www.dataaccess.com/events.asp?pageid=1924) so we can discuss it further?
