Hi all,

Our company is currently looking for a experienced developer for a new
webapp application. Due to lack of time we want to hire someone to do this
job for us.

Work on this project would be starting in 2 to 4 weeks and is not bound to
our office. If you have the time to take on some work for developing this
application and have experience in webapp then please respond.

For more information or applying you can send a email to:

Kind regards,

Would you consider taking some 3.2 programming in return? ;-)

I'd love to, but I simply haven't got the time. Sorry. I hope you find
someone.

3.2? Didn't know that could result in a webapp application.

But over here the same, I'd also love to write it, but... no time at all.
I'm running short on time as it is.

Besides that, I never did anything in webapp so that would probably also
consume a lot of time.

We have some options to have the application created in asp, but we would
prefer it to be writen in webapp.

Oh yes! Google is actually a 3.2 Linux application. Didn't you know?

No I didn't. My first encounter with Dataaccess was VDF 6, I never worked
with Dataflex only with visual dataflex. So you are saying this could be
written en running under DF 3.2? In that case my boss could be of
assistance, he only programs in dataflex 3.??? (something) and lower. He
only recently decided to go and learn to work in vdf but didn't realy start
yet.

Leon,

I meant it as a joke. DF 3.2 is not capable of web applications. Although
some programmers have managed to do something with 3.2 and the web, that is
definately not the way to go. Sorry, but your boss is of no particular
assistance right now (don't tell him).

One has to use VDF 11 (or after 9).

Sture.

See, that is how much I know about DF. Nothing!!!!

I allready know he is of no assistance in this, but that applies to all of
our applications since they are all writen in VDF. But damn, I allready told
him he is of no use for me. I knew there was something I did wrong :-)

Well, maybe he is of some use. He created the first layout of the database
in DF something and made some modifications to it after evaluating the
layout. Luky for me that database is compatible with VDF, it saves at least
some work.

I considered the option of letting him create the application but I am
affraid that it will take years to complete it that way so I discarded it.

Thinking of this discusion in all the question: "Why do I need a boss"
crosses my mind. Mmmm, have to think about that sometime I guess. ;-)

Leon,

I am pretty sure DAW is still doing contract work. I have used them over
the years and had
good success. Give Miami a call and see if they can help.

Leon,

If you can't find a developer, Data Access Europe can do it for you. I
let them build a WebApp last year. It saved me a lot of time and I got a
successful WebApp. Now it is running, it isn't too difficult to change
smaller things.

Regards,

Peter van Mil
