Lucky me, I already have VDF-15 installed, so can't install 15.1. Uninstalling 15.0 just ain't gonna happen...

One thing I noticed that you might want to fix is that once you get to the error message I've attached here, the VDF-15.0 WebApp service has been turned off. And, exiting setup does NOT turn it back on. After I noticed this I turned it back on and retried it again just to be sure this was indeed happening.

Bob,

Don't know what is wrong but I have 15.0 and 15.1 side-by-side on the same machine.

Bob,

Are you sure you are running the 15.1 installation? I've installed 15.1 with 15.0 on the same machine many times (in fact I've and never installed it on a machine that didn't have 15.0) and I've never seen this. I also just triple checked the installation script and the only way this message is triggered is if it find a value in...

HKLM\software\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\15.1\Defaults\VDFRootDir

...and the only way that it would find something there would be if 15.1 was installed.

Now, I also checked and with 15.0 installed (and the server running) and I run the 15.0 install again I see exactly what you do - including the 15.0 web server being shut down.

Hi Bob -

I've got 14.1, 15 & 15.1 installed side by each with no problems. Vista Ultimate 32 bit - all default installation locations.

Some days I don't know why I try... When you click the "Visual Dataflex 2009 Testing" link, both 15.0 and the new 15.1 beta are there, guess which one I probably clicked on? Sigh...

Semi-connected......

I hadn't got IIS installed when I put on vdf15, but by the time 15.1 arrived I had done.

When I installed 15.1 it therefore installed all the webapp stuff, but when I tried to start webapp it looked for 15.0's engine instead of 15.1's.

To fix it all I had to reinstall both 15 and 15.1.

This happened on both my boxes.
