View Full Version : Copy (ie. Copy/Paste) from ReportControl

Had a request from a user to be able to highlight and copy rows of data (more like the screen image not the actual data) from ReportControl to paste into a document.

Any thoughts on how to do this? Is it part of the CJ classes? Or do I need to roll my own?

I mentioned that we could do it using one of the screen print utilities out there. That might be the best solution ... ???

Thanks

I think that indeed the screen print utils is the way to go.
Have a look at snag-it.. it is the rolls-royce amongst them.

Cheers,
Marco

Hi Archie -

The folks @ TechSmith (makers of Snagit) also offer Jing - which is a free TSR. http://www.jingproject.com/ Pretty simple to use (can save as file or put in the clipboard - or save it to their server).

Snagit might be best though - as I've found Jing to slow startup & shutdown on Vista (not that anything else does...;-). I haven't tried Snagit on Vista though.

Thanks guys. Yes, I think the screen capture method is the way to go. I've been using Gadwin Printscreen for some time now and it's an okay product. I downloaded Jing and it looks kinda cool. I used to use SnagIt when I was with ExxonMobil and it has a LOT of cool features, but IMHO is too much for a simple print screen utility.

Thanks again

I use SnagIt almost everyday. It is a great product.

I tried Jing also, and it is nice (for free), but SnagIt is far superior.

I use "FastStone Capture" which does all I ever expected of Snag-it for about $20 US.

their site is Here. (http://www.faststone.org/)
