Hi Joe,

Install the server (it has all the components of the client and all the
components of the server) and then register both the server and client
licenses. You don't have to physically install both (nor is that allowed
in 11.1).

Best regards,

I have a system where I have an 11.1 Client License running. When I go
to
load 11.1 Server it tells me I must uninstall the Client License first.
Unless I'm mistaken, I had Server loaded, then it wouldn't let me load
client. If I uninstall Client, I'd like to be assured that I'll be able
to
load Client afterward.

I "should" be able to load both Client & Server on the same machine --
right?

Lost in the loop,
Joe

P.S. This system is also running some 10.1 apps - including a web app.

Thanks for the weekend reply Stephen -- All up and running as desired this
weekend -- with users never knowing about the change. I love it when
updates are transparent!

Ok! Useful info. I was about to post the same question today.

Is this mentioned anywhere in docs or KB articles?

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.

Was also puzzled. Would be nice if the message in the install program
would detect the server install, and go after a message like 'The
install has detected that all client components are already installed
with the server install. Please enter your client registration codes in
the following page.' immediately to the registration wizard.

Cheers,
Marco
