Error Type:
WebAppServer.Session.10.0 (0x80020009)
Error during Web Application Server session initialization, please try again
later. Technical details for the site administrator: Fatal error occurred
during child process initialization: Maximum number of sessions exceeded VDF
Error#: 25000 in line: 12365. Please check the Windows event log for further
information about the problem.

Looks like its tied into the licensing, so I've actually gone into the
"Register Visual Dataflex" and removed the registration and put it back in
(its a dual processor server license) and the problem remains.

What could be wrong?

Was there anything in the event log? How many users according to Web App
Admin? How many licenses have you got (VDF/CK/SQL/Win)?

Similar message in my Event Viewer.

Session failed to initialize: Fatal error occurred during child process initialization: Maximum number of sessions exceeded VDF Error#: 25000 in line: 79926.

I've deleted my TERMLIST.CFG and reentered all of my registration information, it didn't seem to help. Still the same message. We are using the mertech driver to log into Oracle. Still baffled.

The admin is set on 100 and its not getting close to that. I've deleted the
termlist and re-entered my registration information, and this afternoon went
as far as completely removing VDF, its registry settings and folders and
reinstalled, and the problem remains. Please help! What does this mean???

You could check in the debugger what line #12365 is, so you might get a
clue. If this "magically" happened without you (or anyone else!) changing
anything, you probably hit some limit. Have you made sure it's not Oracle,
the Mertech driver (don't know if that has a license limit) or Windows that
hits this?

Also, check what error 4000 is in Mertech/Oracle. When Pervasive throws an
error you get the error in VDF with 21000 added, probably the same in your
setup.

The problem was Oracle related and has been solved.
