Paul,

It's a: "Let's confuse the potential customer" trick so that you go to
the competition all by yourself. DAW was getting too many requests for
it so that they were having trouble printing the CD's <grd&l>

Now the nice part is that the server productline still is named "webapp
server"..

I know that you are not going to order via Europe (that would be
strange) but you can at least have a looksey on what's available as i
don't see a similar page on the .com site.

... Or do you mean that the mainpage doesn't load? It took about a minute
here to settle on the first page. Not bad considering that i have high
speed ADSL. It seems to be a bit better now..

I suggest the name should be "Visual DataFlex Web Application Services".

A "server" is commonly regarded as a computer system, not a software
component. IIS means Internet Information Services.

I have a web server. It's a general *server* dedicated to be a web
*server*, and run mostly web based *services*. It is located in a
*server* room and has cables attached to it. On it I have installed:

a) An operating *system* from Microsoft
b) Internet Information *Services* from Microsoft
c) Visual DataFlex Web Application Server, eh.. *Services* from Data
Access.
d) Several other *services* from other vendors
e) Some deployed SOAP based Web *Services*

Fine. Now I just have to suggest Microsoft to rename their product SQL
Server til SQL Services. :-)

Not true. Technically, a server is really anything providing a service, but
in common speech IIS is a web server, just like Apache, and MSSQL/PSQL/etc
are SQL Servers. When we had one service per computer, we named the physical
computer after the service, saying "that HP is our web server, that Dell is
our SQL server", but that doesn't disqualify the software from being
servers.

Called Windows 2003 Server.

IIS contains both a Web server, FTP server and SMTP server. =)

Perhaps you also have the Apache HTTP Server installed.

And here I thought that my *server* was that cute young thing that was
explaining the menu at the restaurant last night...
