Hi

This is just to warn everybody on using remote desktop and pervasive
together.

We used to use pcanywhere but switched to ms remote desktop which have
a very good performance. But at a customer site we also have pervasive
9.1 and running in database mode. This means that when we need to add
a new database to pervasive using the control center ... you cant.
Well atleast not when you are connected via remote desktop. It works
fine when you use pcanywhere (but is somewhat slow). So now you know.

By the way - You cant install pervasive via remote desktop either.

I struggled with this for a long time before I found it. Set the key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pervasive Software\Utilities
Interface\Settings\Restricted Access On WTS client" to 0, and it will work.

Use Remote Console instead. ("%SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe /console")

We have this problem on some customer sites too. We have tried "mstsc
/console" too, and on some customers it works, but on others it dont. I
think this problem has something to do with policies, but I am not sure. It
would be nice to figure out what this is.

Well Remote Desktop/Console is new to me but I have only used the
mstsc.exe /console approach. So in my case /console did not work on the
install.

But thanks for the regedit part. That kan be very usefull - we only
need to install once but we need to maintain often. :-)

Thanks
Allan
