View Full Version : Error accessing MSSQL table

I'm trying to access data from a MSSQL table in VDF11.1. The table is from
a non-DataFlex application. When I access the file, I receive the following
message: General error 22018 (0)--[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
Driver]Invalid character value for cast specification.

The table is apparently valid in MSSQL (and works flawlessly with it's
application). So is there something I need to reconfigure in DataFlex?

Thanks.

What Connectivity Kit are you using?

What version does thre CK have? You can see the CK version by right
cliscking on the dll choose properties and then choose version.

What VDF or DataFlex version?

How did you create the intermediate file?

CK version is 4.1.0.12.

VDF 11.1

Interface file created by DB Builder using connect to table of SQL Server
wizard.

Thanks,
Tom

Can you send me the table so we can take a look at it?

To export the table definition you can generate an SQL script. in Enterprise
manager you can right click on the table and choose generate SQL script.

The data you can export, right click on the table, choose export and export
to fixed length text file.

Send both the script and the text file and I should be able to recreate the
table.

My SQL Enterprise Manager is ver 8.0. I don't see an option to generate
SQL script when I right-click on the table.
