To Dac,
Finally the new CK that I waited!

I am trying the new CK for Pervasive SQL 3.0.0.10 with internet connection.

For my tests I have a SERVER Linux with Pervasive SERVER 8.5 and remote
CLIENT Windows XP with Pervasive CLIENT 8.7

I have connected the Client to Server with internet connection using a
Router with the 3351 port and I haved success.
I have made some table on the server without problems!!
The problems is here:
For internet security I have setting the password to database and I have
found a surprise!
The CK login with success to database without password!!
..............................
While I have rebooting the CLIENT have changed the password of the database
on then SERVER.
Again I have tryed to connect without password and the CK login with
success.
From client the Pervasive Control Center asks the password normally
even Crystal Report asks the password normally.
Where is the problem?
The SERVER or the CK?
Waiting You
Best Regards
Giuseppe Catania

Giuseppe,

Did you configure the Connectivity Kit to use Database_Mode ? In that case
the username/password probably is specified in the INT file.
How exactly are you trying to login to the database ?

Martin,
in the file DFBTRDRV.INT Database_Mode is set to 1 and in the TABLE.INT file
not there a passoword!
I trying to login to the database from dbbuilder from dialog New Table and
dialog Pervasive Connection Properties.
The file TABLE.INT is:
DRIVER_NAME DFBTRDRV
URI btrv://192.168.0.100/DEMODATA?table=TEST

; Data after this point is read after the DDF's have been read

The IP address may be the SERVER or ROUTER with 3351 Port.
I have tryed to change the password first of the new connection and the
table is opened normally
without password.
I have tryed with another Linux Server with Pervasive 8.70 bat nothing is
changed.
If you wont you can connetc to my server for your test.

Giuseppe,

Where exactly are you changing a password ? Do you have security turned on
on this database ?

To test this without the CK, use the Pervasive Function Executer and see if
you can login without a password there.
You might also use the Pervasive Monitor to see which users are really
logged in.

One last thought is that the username/password is stored in the registry of
the client, after you first entered it. Use the pvnetpass utility to check
this.

Martin,
In the morning I have done some tests.
For to force user id and password in URI string I have had to change the
btrieve security police
from Maintain named database utility
If btrieve security police is CLASSIC the CK not wants UserId and Password.
If btrieve security police is MIXED or DATABASE the CK wants UserId and
Password.
Is it normal this?
