View Full Version : Oracle Server 9i with VDF 10.1 & CK3.0 Bad Performance

Hi

I have a terrible performance problem using an application built on VDF10.1
accessing the database on a Oracle 9i Server using the Connectivity Kit 3.0
(ODBC_DRV.DLL) Beta to connect.

The application has a view with a 3 level table structure and just by
opening it, it takes 15 minutes just to display it to the screen ! and the
same time to navigate between stored records!.

I've already tried everything: 2 different Oracle 9i Servers with 2
different LAN conguration; 3 different Windows Plattforms (W2K, W2KServer,
WXP); the latest Oracle and Microsoft ODBC versions; and of course
optimizing the database with indixes, statistics properties, fk's, pk's,
etc.

With all this facts, all I can blame by now is the Oracle ODBC or the Oracle
9i Server with its configuration.

I had completely discarded the posibility of bad EBD design or programming
in my application by running the same application with the same .DLL on a
SQL 2000 Server. The time for the view to open is less than a second!, just
like if I where using .DAT files.

I really hope that someone can give me a tip about this...

Thank you !
