I have been trying to get the email confirmation in the Webshop of v3.1 to
work but as of yet have been unsuccessful.

I have tried various accounts and with different configurations but no luck.

Any Ideas?

Make sure you have all the required settings set for your e-mail server,
depending on the configuration of the server there may be some requirements
as login/password, etc.

We have attempted to use three different POP3 mail providers but they all
fail. I have varied the use of Senders address (with or without) but I
always get the 'Send Failed' message. These are all existing email accounts
which are currently being used so I know it's not the setup.

I have attached a screen shot of the error.

As far as I know most mail providers should work, but gmail won't at the
moment because it requires TLS authentication.
The CDO object we use does not seem to support this, at least I haven't
found any way to get it working. Mail providers which don't require this
authentication should however work when using the correct settings (our
internal mail settings for example work just fine.)

Regards,

Edwin

It appears the email does not work on accounts that do not require
Authentication, not on accounts that require SSL.
The only account we've been able to get to work on requires Authentication.

Thanks for your input.

Hi,

I can't answer that question :) but if you want to send emails to a gmail
account you can use the following code.
This code uses CDOSYS that is the sustitute of CDONTs

<%
Set myMail=CreateObject("CDO.Message")
myMail.Subject="Sending email with CDO"
myMail.From="mymail@mydomain.com"
myMail.To="someone@somedomain.com"
myMail.TextBody="This is a message."
myMail.Send
set myMail=nothing
%>

You can see more examples at http://www.w3schools.com/asp/asp_send_email.asp
