We have just started using electos and have the following questions:

1. Is it possible to get the document editor to be larger, the small window
is weak. Or can we edit documents in somethin else and paste them, ie. the

2. Is there a clean way to import documents from our existing website that
contain html formatting and images.

3. I saw a post on search security that was never really answered. When you
are using user logins will the search skip documents the user is not allowed
to view?

4. Who do we buy one of the 24 designs shown on the Elector website from.

5. Can you change a design once the website is running?

Thanks

Copy and Paste of HTML content into Electos (imho) is not recommended. I
have experienced problems where a tag was missing or something else was
wrong and it just messed up the content really bad. The only thing I suggest
doing is to copy and paste into Notepad and then Electos.

No clean way to import existing HTML files.

You can make the editor larger by editing the Electos ASP files for the
editor.

You contact your local DAW supplier to purchase the templates.

Yes, you can change the design at anytime.

I don't know about the search thing.

You should be able to right click on the frame and view source. This
identifies which ASP you are looking at. I say that so that you are able to
know how to figure these things out in case you want to change other things
in Electos. I've made a number of changes myself including:

Relabeling items to make them more clear. Fixed a few bugs related to
passwords (screen field sizes were too small), change the number of fields
used to upload files, added the ability to Edit ASP and CSS files directly
in the studio (no need to upload). I don't allow non-IE browsers to start
Electos (not supported), I added the ability for Electos to find the website
when the www is not included (To see this problem, try going to
http://electos.com and then http://www.electos.com. Go to my website
http://redeemedsoftware.com or http://www.redeemedsoftware.com and they both
work.

I do use FireFox in Electos some times... but only for debugging. Because my
firefox doesn't do javascript so the javascript menu's don't get in the way
of me being able to view the page source. I also like the java console and
the formatting used when viewing page source.

David already answeredd most of your question up I'll try to expand on that.

1. The width and height of the editor is determined by the document
structure of the document/page. These document structures determines which
elements are available for a document (title/text/etc) and their size. To
determine the document structure, hover over its icon and it will tell you
in the tooltip. Now go to control panel\document structures. Select the
structure you wish to change and select 'edit items' from the right hand
menu. Now you can change the size of each of these items.
This is done so you can adapt the size of an editor to the available space
on your website. This way you can always see the content in the right
wrapping.

2. There is not really an import function. What you can do is select the
text from your website, copy it (ctrl+c) open an empty electos document and
click the 'paste as plain text' button. This will strip all html formatting
leaving you with a clean document. The image however you will need to upload
and re-add afterwards.

3. I just checked and it appears the restricted documents will be listed but
you cannot open them through the presented link. I will make sure this will
get fixed as soon as possible!

4. As David said, your local DAW supplier or via www.electos.com.

5. Yes, no problem.

Thanks, I am now able to size the editor. But how do I size the studio
area the editor is on (needs to be wider).

What do you mean with 'studio area'? Do you mean the the white space around
the editor? The only way to do this is to change the html frameset code. In
index.asp and ObjectBrowser\main.asp you'' find hardcoded size that will
need to be resized. This will not only effect the edit page though...
