My webadmin has Electos 2.0 Developer version installed everything is
working fine except, I can't see any images or files that I upload into the
studio. I know the upload is working because I CAN add the images to an
electos asp page and when I attempt to upload the same document file or
image file again it tells me the file already exists, "do you want to
overwrite?", so I replace the file and I still don't see the file in the
content area of Electos. My web admin tells me he can see the file on the
server in /contentfiles.

My web admin has verified the path as
http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/PestGuides/ContentFiles/ , the path is specified as an
absolute directory location.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, we are getting near to completing a
very nice ecommerce site with Electos 2.0, great product just need a few
pointers.
thanks in advance,
Lynda

Hi Lynda,

The url to the images is determined by value of the 'upload url' setting.
Open the 'control panel' form the left hand menu and click 'settings'. Here
you will find this setting. You can either fill in a relative Url
(/mywebsite/Contentfiles/) or an aboslute url
(http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/MyWebsite/contentfiles). What you probably want to do
is change this setting to '/PestGuides/ContentFiles/'. This will be
pre-pended with URL used to access the website. That should do the trick.

FYI, the value of the 'Website Url' setting on this page is used for the
website preview buttons in the Electos Studio.

Regards,
Thijs

Thijs,

Thanks, my web admin must still have something wrong, ... my settings are
via the control panel in Electos 2.0 are:

Add category level: 1

Add page level: 1

Upload URL http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/PesticideGuides/contentFiles/

Website URL http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/PesticideGuides/

Maximum text length: 256000

Allow recursive link checking: checked

Use FTS search system: checked

I can view a preview of the site fine.

I tired changing the following:

Upload URL: /PesticideGuides/ContentFiles/

but I get the same problem.

thanks,
Lynda

Hi Lynda,

The virtual directory 'PesticideGuides' maps to the website directory
(..\Electos\Websites\<Websitename>\AppHtml), right?

Can you get to the files outside of Electos? To try it, just fill in the
full address to one of your file in the address bar of your browser
(http://xx.xxx.xx.xxx/PesticideGuides/contentFiles/<filename>, where
<filename> is the name of opne of the files you uploaded) and see if the
file shows up in your browser.

Can you tell what URL Electos is trying to use? To check this, open the
website, go to a page with 'non-showing images', right click on the image
and open the property screen. In this screen, what is the value of the
address field?

Regards,
Thijs
