I'm going to upgrade an on-line website to 2.0 and saw that Torben got
problem with the non US Collatting sequence. What steps do you recommend to
avoid problems. Is it not recommended to upgrade on the server directly?

Kind Regards

Hi Per,

Torben's problems were caused by a corrupted session table. This problem
shouldn't occur on other installations. To be on the safe side, just make a
backup of the Electos\Websites\<websitename> directory and upgrade the
website. Also please make sure process pooling is switch off before
upgrading (you can turn it back on afterwards).

Regards,
-Thijs

Thijs,
bad news, thought everything went well at a first glance but when accessing
the site from outside or even maintaining the site directly from the servers
browser, the server hangs and the blue screens comes up indicating some
addresses and something "IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL" and memory dump begins then
the server restarts.

Inspecting the Windows Application log list gives some similar error
messages "Faliled to initialize application event log: Unable to open
D:\Program Files\Electos\v2.0\Programs\WebApp.log. Error 0x80030050.

Please heeeelllllpp :-(
Regards
PER T.

This error is either a driver problem or a harware malfunction. First
thing to check is temperatures, fans and RAM (remove all modules but
one, alternately and test).

Per,

"IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL". I had something similiar on my private home
computer a few years ago. After replacing one of the two memory modules
the problem was solved.

Hans

I am not much of a hardware expert, but the other suggestions sounds like
good ideas to me.

On the error in the application log, this is a known bug caused by problems
in the setup. The results is that the webapp log won't log anything. You can
fix it by removing the webapp logs located in
"Electos\Common\SiteManager\LogFiles", "Electos\v2.0\Programs" and
"Electos\Websites\MyWebsite\LogFiles". Remember to stop the webapp server
first. New files will be created when the applications are started and no
error should be added to the event log anymore.

Thanks a lot to all of you!
Remarkable, a server that has been doing well with no problem at all until
one is upgrading a software (Electos), then at the same time a DDR memory
started to be shaky. After having replaced that memory card the server and
Electos 2.0 is working fine.

(Also followed the tip about the log-files, thanks)

Kind Regards
PER T.
