Hi,
Im currently writing call management software for a client who needs the
software to bring up an alert when a call is due. The calls are stored in
a database with the fields date, hour, minute, contact. I need to know how
i can make a timer object check the database to see if any of the calls
match the current date and time, then alert the user of the details. Any
help will be much appreciated! :)

Hi,

In DataFlex OO and in VDF are both a timer object that is exactly what
you need.

You would eg issue the timer every second, to check if any calls are
outstanding.

The timer object uses a proper interupt thingy... I've had a clock ones,
that ticked over every second, and it did not influence the users speed.

Cheers,
Marco
