Hi,

According to http://www.dataaccess.com/normal.asp?pageid=712 , which states:

Client/Server Options
DataFlex supports the use of foreign database drivers for MS-SQL, IBM DB2
and ODBC under Windows Console Mode. DB2 is supported on Linux. Third Party
vendors support other client/ server connectivity options including Oracle
and MySQL.

Therefore, does anyone know how I could connect to MySQL from DF3.2? Can't
any options in DFFILE?

Regards,
Raveen Ryan Sundram

Raveen,

To setup the use of foreign databases you need to use the standalone
database builder utility which you can download from www.dataaccess.com ; go
to downloads and select the standalone database builder. To use any of the
foreign databases you need the connectivity kit for that database. Data
Access has direct drivers for MSSQL, DB2, P.SQL and ODBC. Mertech has
drivers for Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL etc. See their website for more
information.

Vincent,

I can't seem to locate a DataFlex 3.2 for Linux OBDC database builder or
DFFILE.
Could you please send me the link?

Raveen

Raveen,

Here is a link to the latest version of the standalone database builder I
could find at the FTP site.

ftp://ftp.dataaccess.com/pub/products/connectivity/mssql/software/DatabaseBuilder10.1.7.0.exe

Note; It is a Windows version and does not run natively under Linux.
