Sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum guys. If it is, please let me
know f there is a better spot to post this.

I'm an end user left with an unsupported legacy app running on DF3.1. I'm
trying to export some data using the Database Explorer Export Wizard so I
can get the info into a spreadsheet. Everything works ifine but somewhere in
the export any numeric prices get rounded up to the next whole dollar
amount. Not so good as it skews my inventory value by around $150,000.

Is there an easy way to know whay this happens? Is it a function of
DBExplorer or more likely of the primary app?

Any help would be great. If I'm hosed, thanks anyway for your time.

Sincerely,
Chad Winship

Chad, what version of DBExplorer are you using?

Chad,

I'm not using DBExpl. But, if you have normal runtime, you should
have a "dfquery" too. It can write out the plain data into text
files (fixed length), which spreadsheats will read well. No rounding
or anything else, just plain data and it can handle field
connections between different data files if there are.

Chad,

That is a very old version and we had problems with formatting (rounding)
numbers in those days. Fixed in current versions.

Damn. As I said, my app is no longer supported, company doesn't exist, is it
possible to update the version of DBexplorer without having to re-code the
primary app?

Chad,

You might want to look at FlexODBC as a way to access you files and pull the
data into a spread sheet. The price is not that bad and you would have
access to all of the data. They have a free download to check it out, just
limits to 100 records per query.

Chad,

There is no update else than a newer VDF version. You could use a VDF11
version for example.
