View Full Version : Getting prompt for Parameter Values for no apparent reason

Greetings from Downunder.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, and with no changes or updates from us, a
client running a Crystal report is getting prompted with an "Enter Parameter
Values" dialog. The fields that are displayed in the list that it wants
values for are two parameters that are set by the report for passing to a
sub-report. The sub-report is implying that the values are not set. When
we bring the rpt back to our office and run it, it works fine (even against
their data).
Any clues ?

Phil Kirby

Hi Phil -

Any database changes? That'll give you this error. Try running Verify
Database & see if it goes away.

Hi Phil,

Just a shot in the dark...

Would it do this when there is no parent record, and it is still trying
to do the subreport, because it is in a page header or footer or something?

Cheers,
Marco

Marco,
We have established that this is not the scenario.
Thanks for your response
Phil

Problem was a missing TAG file used by the sub-report !!

Some hardware clown had taken over support of the site and in his infinite
wisdom had removed it !

It worked for us because when we brought the data back, we supplied all the
TAG files.

Traps for young players.
