I have some reports that must be printed on some special pre-printed
forms.
Until now, I assumed that if I put at field 1.00 inch from the top when
designing it in Crystal, it would print exactly there on any printer (it
does on my printer) - except for some minor deviation.
It turns out that even though my customers claim they have the correct
printer drivers all printers are different and I experience deviations up
to
0.2 inches (5 mm). This is so much that the fields will not hit the right
places on the pre-printed forms.
Therefore, I might have to take up to old DOS technique, where the users
enter the requested top margin and left margin for a specific report.
What is your experience with making precision reports? How do I control
the
top margin and left margin from VDF to Crystal?
