Hello,

We are evaluating Crystal Reports 10 and are experiencing problems accessing
data. We have Pervasive 2000i and VDF7. We can easily report on non-text
fields via the ODBC connection, but reporting on text fields using this
connection does not work if there is more than one table in the report.
Many of our existing Crystal 8.5 reports connect natively to FILE.DDF in
order to report text fields but they no longer work under Crystal 10. We
have also install an evaluation of Pervasive 8 but this has not solved the
problem.

Business Objects support have told us that connection to FILE.DDF natively
is not supported under Crystal Reports 10. If this is the case, how do we
report Pervasive.sql text fields.

Has anybody else exerience this? Do we need any connectivity kits?

Many thanks,
Gary Campbell

Gary,

The suggested way is using ODBC. But in order to access text fields via that
way you need to use PSQL 8.x and set the textfields to NOTE (see PSQL CK
documentation). You need the PSQL 2.0 CK.

Correction:
The TEXT_TYPE should be set to LONGVAR in this setup.
