Hi,

I think that I´ve seen a module which can copy records from database to database by selection.

Who can help me:

I´ve looked in
-> Database Builder (can copy from database to database without recordselection)
-> Anyflex (can copy from database to database without recordselection)
-> ???

Regards Dittmar

Have a look at dataslave. it's an awesome program for doing this.
http://www.baycastle.co.uk/index.htm

They were at DISD and showed what their product can do. Really cool.

Hi David,
I´m looking for a tool to copy VDF embedded databases.
I´ve don´t tested the product of baycastle. I know that I have used some
time ago a modul from a vdf user, but I´m know the name. I need it sometime
to complete a database after making a backup.

Regards Dittmar

The product from BayCastle will do DF embedded databases. The product allows
you to import data and see results without actually doing the import. For
example: If you chose a table and pointed it to another table in another
database... you could pick a field and tell it to only import records where
status="A"... and it would show you all the records that ="A" and it will
show you all records that do not ="A".
It is basically a scripting tool. It allows you to build a script of how to
import data and how to handle records that do not conform.

Try looking on www.VDF-Guidance.com and see if what you need is there. I
think someone had posted a solution for importing csv files... You can
always use DBExplor to export data as a csv (but does it constrain data?)
