Hi!

Don't know if this is the NG to bring this up but ill will give it a go.

I have created a tool that will keap track of several things related to VDF
12.x and greater.

The tool however is not built with VDF, does any one mind if i post it here?

If you are interested of this tool, you could also send me an e-mail.

Send it to makungsbacka@hotmail.com

Martin,

I'm sure a lot of people might be interested with a few more details.

1. Are you charging for the tool?
2. What are the several things it keeps track of?

Since this is the open source newsgroup I would assume you are offering the
tool for public use?

Thanks,
Chuck Atkinson

Hi!

No the tool will not be charged for. It is still under development.

A brief list of what it does just for now.

1. Keep track of crystal report files. What tables are used. You can query
and get information what tables a report are using or which reports are
using a specific table.

2. Unused files in a project, with a couple of selection criterias.
3. Unused variables in a project (Under development)
4. Unused indexes (Under development)

And any ideas are warmly welcome.

And oh. the 1 point requires at this moment SQL 2005

/Martin

Just curious - how would you determine if an index is used in a project?
Especially vFind command can take a variable as the search index...
