Why not use a boolean for those fields? I have many that are "Y" & "". That's simple to set up in the DD & will not give you the "Undefined".
On the main screen of the DD, select the field. Then click on the "..." button under Validation Type & choose "Boolean" on the dialog that comes up. Enter Y for true & leave false blank. Click OK & you're done.
There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator. Only a fraction of people will find this funny.
