As far as I know the search function of the lookup works properly for indexed fields as long as they are the first field in their main index. While I know that is a requirement that can cause quite some overhead it simply is how the search in lookups of VDF applications works as well. There is a bug that lets it jump to the wrong record when the record is one of the first few in the list. A fix for that is included in the 2.4 build of the AJAX Library that will come with Visual DataFlex 17.0.
